Rise Alternative

Learning Provision

What is RISE?

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has high aspirations for all children and young people and believes that all schools and academies will try to provide for the learning needs of all pupils placed in their care.

There may however be times in a child or young person's education, where for one reason or another, they are not able to access mainstream provision or are at risk of failing.

RISE is the means by which the local authority arranges suitable education for any child or young person who is unable to attend school owing to permanent exclusion or because of health needs (1)

RISE Alternative Learning Provision is a Virtual PRU in that it does not have a physical building although it does retain its DfE number as a PRU for funding purposes.
